Ms. Gu was born in Shanghai, China and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2007. She has extensive experience and background in a variety of legal settings, including the District Attorney’s Office, public interest organization, and international practice.

Ms. Gu is fluent in written and spoken Chinese, including Mandarin, Cantonese, and Shanghainese. She also has a working knowledge of Spanish.
